What is Discover The Practice?

Discover the Practice offers a gentle and enjoyable introduction to Tai Chi Shibashi. These stand-alone sessions are designed to be enjoyed as a complete experience in themselves — perfect for visitors to the area, those on holiday, or anyone simply looking for a calming, restorative hour without committing to an ongoing course.

Each session provides gentle, low-impact movement to support both physical and mental wellbeing in a relaxed, welcoming environment. There is no progression from week to week, so you can join at any time and simply enjoy the experience.


Who is it for?

Discover the Practice is ideal if you’re curious, seeking relaxation, or looking for a mindful activity while visiting Cornwall. It also makes a thoughtful and meaningful gift experience, offering someone the chance to pause, breathe, and enjoy a calming moment just for themselves.

This is not a condensed version of the course, but a stand-alone wellbeing experience. For those who later decide they’d like to build a deeper, more flowing practice, Develop the Practice offers a structured six-week journey where the movements are explored in greater depth and brought together into a complete sequence.

Whether you’re looking for a peaceful holiday activity, a thoughtful gift, or a gentle introduction to Tai Chi, you are warmly invited to step into the practice.

Accessible Tai Chi for All Ages and Abilities (18+)

Discover the Practice sessions are gentle, stand-alone Tai Chi Shibashi classes designed to be accessible and welcoming for everyone.

There is no floor work, and all movements can be practised standing or seated, making the sessions suitable for a wide range of abilities. No special equipment is needed — simply wear comfortable clothing and supportive shoes and come as you are.


Relax your body and calm your mind

Experience gentle, flowing movement that soothes the nervous system and eases tension. With guided breath and mindful attention, you’ll leave feeling calmer, lighter, and more relaxed — a simple pause from the pace of everyday life.


Build balance, ease & body awareness
