Develop the Practice - Build confidence, develop your flow.

Develop the Practice is a six-week guided journey to build confidence, connection, and flow in your Tai Chi Shibashi Set 1 practice.

What is Develop the Practice?

Develop the Practice is a six-week guided course designed to help you move with greater ease, confidence, and flow. Each week gently builds on the last, introducing new movements while refining those already learned.

By week six, you will be able to move through the full Tai Chi Shibashi Set 1 sequence, developing familiarity, confidence, and a deeper sense of calm and connection.

You’ll receive a course handbook to support your learning at home, helping you revisit the movements between sessions and build a steady personal practice. This is also where the community aspect begins — practising alongside others and sharing the experience week by week.

This course is ideal for those ready to move beyond introductory sessions and begin to truly embody the practice — experiencing Tai Chi not just as a sequence of movements, but as a flowing, mindful way of moving and being.

Accessible for All Ages and Abilities (18+)

Develop the Practice remains gentle and accessible, with no floor work and the option to practise standing or seated. The sessions are suitable for a wide range of abilities, and no special equipment is needed — simply wear comfortable clothing and supportive shoes.

This six-week course offers a more structured approach than the introductory sessions, guiding you through the Tai Chi Shibashi Set 1 sequence step by step. Each week builds on the last, helping you develop confidence, balance, and a deeper understanding of how the movements flow together.

The supportive pace means you can progress comfortably, while still enjoying a calm, inclusive environment where everyone is encouraged to move in a way that feels right for them.

Relax your body and calm your mind

Experience gentle, flowing movement guided by the breath, allowing the nervous system to soften and the mind to unwind. As breath and movement weave together, tension dissolves and a quiet sense of calm, clarity, and inner stillness begins to emerge.

Build balance, strength, and confidence

Improve stability, coordination, and mobility through gentle, flowing movements that encourage awareness of weight distribution, posture, and alignment. As you move, you’ll begin to sense how energy travels through the body, supporting balance, core connection, and overall ease of movement.

Feel more present, focused, and connected

By moving with intention and paying attention to breath, balance, and sensation, you’ll begin to feel more centred and grounded. This practice encourages mental stillness, emotional steadiness, and a deeper connection between mind and body.

Experience a warm and connected space

These sessions offer more than movement — they provide a welcoming environment where laughter, connection, and shared experience are part of the journey. Practising together helps build confidence, friendship, and a genuine sense of community.
